Default Water temperature for 6.2 liter mercruiser

Hi does anybody know what the water temp should run at on my 29 powerquest with 6.2 Merc's? Are the impellers easy to change on the water pumps? Thanks!!!

My 6.2's run right at 158-160°F fully warmed up. Impellers are easy to change if you pull the water pump off the engine.

Mine always run about 170 the pumps are not hard to take off.Lossen the belt take off the two hoses going to the back of the pump.They can be stuck on there after the clamp is off just twist back and forth.Then there are two bolts abouve the pulley one is a nut on a stud on my motor.On one of my motors I have to lossen the bolts on the fuel pump to get pump out.

my 6.2 has a gen 3 fuel box sitting on top of the water pump and i just tried to get the water pump out and i could not even see or reach the back of the pump. so i thought i would let a merc. tech handle it. not sure if all 6.2 s have a gen 3 fuel box .
