Default Help with Depth Finder

My depth finder doesnt seem to be working right. I have only had the boat out 3 times and the first two times i dont remember it ever working at all. I took the boat out yesterday and it kept saying 10ft. but it never moved from that the whole day.

Anyone have an idea of what may be wrong with it?? Or what i can do to fix it?

Here is a pic of it.

First start with the wiring, look for bad connections, there is either a thru hull transducer or a external transducer and there should be a connector somewhere in the cable that might be bad, also the connection at the fuse panel might be loose, the thru hull tranducer could be located in the bilge area around or under the engine or engines (sometimes tough to get at).
These systems failed regularly right in the factory, i would suggest getting a newer system, and if you are a handy man or woman install it yourself.
Fixing these old systems can be very frustrating and time consuming.
Good Luck
