Default Carb size

ok...my buddy wants an opinion on carb size. Just a general estimate. Shooting for 700hp with dart heads (steel), (big block). I said a Holley 950 HP double pumper. Your opinions please ? Thanks.

How many cubic inches ? How many RPM's is he planning on turning? I would still think at least a 1050 Dominator.

565 ci....gonna turn it to around 5600 rpm's. Generally a medium roller cam, single plane dart intake. Doesnt wanna get too radical with power.

+1 and they are easy to find! 1050 dom easy to tune and parts are readily avail.
Or you could jet the he!$ out of that holley too.

Remember Holley HP 4100 series do not flow the same numbers as the 'regular' series. For example, my HP 1000 flows about 870cfm...

Holley just introduced a new marine CG approved 1050 2-circuit. It should be spot on.

a 1050 for sure....don't be fooled a holley 950 is NOT a 950 cfm....
