View Full Version : drive swap info ezstriper 07-02-2010, 06:29 AM I put this in drives section got nothing....whats involved with installing a newer bravo 1 on my 89 checkmate, is it a direct bolt on or ?? thanks Rob hoozeyurdaddy 07-02-2010, 07:19 AM if it has a bravo now, it should be a direct replacement I believe. but I think it has to be a X drive not a XR, I think there is a difference in the gimble bearing. seafordguy 07-02-2010, 07:53 AM If you're just talking about bolting the drive onto the bellhousing then yes - no problem. You can't bolt an XR onto a normal style Bravo Gimbal. ezstriper 07-02-2010, 09:14 AM so the later model are a direct swap...thats what I wanted to know..now which are the best to try to run down ? thanks again..Rob crapr6 07-02-2010, 10:58 AM Don't forget if its an older bravo gimbel with no self oiler set-up then a newer bravo drive will not just bolt up since the new bravo drives have the self oiler set-up and fitting on the drive that fits into the gimbel.
