Let me know what you think about my new A Frame?
I know there's a lot of people out there just like myself who don't really wan't to spend a grand on a A Frame wide enough for our boats so I figured I would post up a picture of a tree which I found on my friend's backyard that would work great and maybe people will look for similar in case anyone needs to take out an engine or something similar, just trying to help out the do it yourself boater just like myself.

Not sure if I would want to back my boat, trailer and dually across a friends lawn then have his beautiful tree limb break off and smash my boat? No tool rental place to rent a hoist? i've also hired a local tow truck with a boom for an hour to do the pull and put back. Besides that after you pull it it needs to be put into a pick up, taken to the shop, relifted and placed on a stand. I'd rather pull it over solid ground and put it right on the stand. Everytime you lift it theres a chance of droping it. I kow I don't want to drop my $30K engine because I didn't want to spend a few bucks on pulling it out? Just my 2cts worth.

Done it in the pass. But the tree was one of those old Indian trees they tie over to mark a trail. It was a perfect upside down L about 18 inches thick. Would i do it again? Probably not.

get everything ready to come out and then have a wrecker service come by and pull the motor out .... or go to a marina with a crane and let them pull em ...We had everything ready and pulled both motors in 30 mins ......it was 65.00 an hour ....they charged us like 35 bucks and I gave the Operator 20.00 bucks!
