Default Latham Filter

How often should you change the filter in your hyd steering? Is it after so many hrs or yearly, bi-yearly or is there some tell tell sign it needs changing? I'll add this, fluid in my resiovour tank looks like new but current filter has 2 seasons and about 100-110 hrs of use. Thanks

I'm curious too. I have one, and I highly doubt it has ever been changed and my boat is a 1997. Fluid is like new also and never had any issues.

I've never changed mine either. I'm quite sure it comes from the year 2003...

Have had full Latham for 15 years with no filter or reservoir and never had a problem. Got me curious now.

boatnt, Is it difficult to change the filter without introducing a lot of air into the system? How do you do it? The filter in my Formula is located below the reservoir.

Mine is below as well,
when I ordered mine I spoke with Tom and he told me to make sure that no one moves the steering wheel while iam changing the filter, once changed start the engine and let run for a minute or two without moving the steering wheel, top off the p/s fluid.

Thats what I did and had no problems.
