Default 1988 272 sr1 exhaust upgrade

Anyone know if gil manifolds will fit in this boat with twin 454's? The space between the two with stock manifolds is pretty tight and the gils are pretty wide. Boat is wrapped for the winter so I can't measure right now.

Any help is appreciated.

Should be no problem. I believe the beam in the 272 is 8'3", the same as the 303. Take a look at the pic in this thread; this is RT930turbo's 303 (my old boat) with 454Mags and Gils:

The beam on the 272 is 8'0". MY 357 with an 8'6" beam has Gill's with dry tails and thay are a tight fit.

The beam on my 1988 311 was 8 feet and I installed Gils with no problem.

I looked at the formula website and in the vintage section the 1988 brochure says the 272 is an 8' beam not 8' 3".... like 303 or 311....

I wonder if the engine spacing is the same...

Do you have the Gil manifolds now or thinking of buying? If you don't already have them, look at the Stainless Marine manifolds. I'm sure they will fit. Is your boat Trs or Alpha's behind 330's ? I put SM on my 357, lots of room between the manifolds, but mine is 8'6".

Looking at buying. And used to save some money. A ton of money actually.

I just want to make sure they will fit first....

The boat is Bravo's behind 454 magnums...
