Will stock Merc/GM windage tray clear stroker crank?
Will the stock GM windage tray (PN 3967854) work with a 4.25 stroker crank? I'm looking for some guys who have built 540's or 496's to chime in here to let me know if I will have clearance issues before I order a tray and the stud kit to mount it.
BTW, those studs must be made of a gold/unobtanium alloy. None of the GM dealers in my area stocks them, and they want close to $20 EACH for the danged things.
Confusion - the tray literature says to use PN 3902885 studs to mount the tray, but there is also a PN 10224104 that is listed as a windage tray main stud that sells for $7.50 each. Does anyone know the difference? Better yet, does anyone have an old windage tray and studs laying around that they want to unload cheap?
Thanks!

My 500EFI's were turned into 540's and we re-used the stock windage trays........that was 4 years ago and the motors still run fine, without hitting the trays.

Thanks for the answers, guys. Now I just need to determine if I can use the 10224104 main studs (listed as "Windage Tray Stud, Gen V 454 & 502") that sells for $7.50, or if I need to use the other part number (3902885) that sells for twice as much. I'm sure the more expensive one will be the one that I need!
