Default Mobil 15W-50

What is the latest news on the 15W-50 Mobil oil? Last I read it was down on Zinc and not recommended for high performance marine engines anymore. I'm currently running Brad Penn 20W-50 semi-synthetic in a mildly upgraded 502 Mag. The Mobil is easier to come by, so just checking on the latest buzz.

Valvoline makes a good oil. I may be switching to their straight 50 race oil if I can't find the 20-50 Mobile 1 that I normally use. It's either that or Royal Purple for me.

The only name brand oil that I caution against is Casteroil. IMO its garbage.

I have been using Valvoline's Racing "Not Street Legal" oil

Not carried on shelf. I just have to special order it at Napa, they can normally have it at the store same day if i order in the morning. Cheaper than Amsoil.

You need to cozy up to a Amsoil dealer that only does it for friends and sells at dealer cost. PM me , I might know one
