wheres the neutral safety switch on a bravo setup??
went to fire my motor after the new install and full transom assembly rebuild and it wouldnt turn over unless i had the shifter darn close to having the drive locked in forward gear. last season i had a few times where i had to jiggle the shifter in order to get the starter to crank over so i dont know if its just out of adjustment due to changing everything or if something is loose and just getting worse. this boat has a separate throttle and shifter lever.
i know i had the cable pretty much in the neutral position before i bolted it up to the shifter plate and the shifter was in the middle position when i mounted the cable to the plate so it seems like it should be close, and the shifter feels like it always has going from forward, reverse, neutral. did but the starter issue is a problem!!

The switch that only allows cranking in neutral on my boat is a micro switch mounted under each gear shifter. Gear shifter has a bump on bottom that pushes the button in when the gear shifter is straight up in neutral. Mine doesn't have any switches in the engine compartment or on the bravo units. Brian

well pulled it apart today, the "lever" on the microswitch is only about .250" long so it doenst hit the bump on the lever. obviously part of the lever broke off the switch!! it would have been nice if they mounted the switch from the outside of the control housing instead of having to disassemble the entire thing to get inside of it to get the switch out. i'm pretty sure i have microswitchs like this at work
