Default oil cooler ?s

can you mount a tube/round type oil cooler in the vertical position?does the oil cooler have to be mounted in the horzonal position?my old applacation had plate type oil coolers,it was older trs stuff.it was in pretty bad shape,so i am converting the coolers to the round.i know you can buy replacement plate coolers, but feel the round cheaper and just as good.any help would be great.thanks.

It doesnt matter what direction you mount the cooler. Most people route the hot oil in the out side of the water exit of the cooler though. That is a tongue twister just read it slowly and it makes sense. Jury is out on that one though. my .02
