Question Installing raw water pump

Repowering and going from alpha to bravo. My questions are; what pulley groove does the pump align with on crank ( v-belts) and is there a tension adjust on the r/water pump bracket. Thanks in advance. R.

the bracket should have a tensioner on it. Use the middle groove for the pump. Inside groove is for the alt. and outside is for power steering pump

take a look at some pics of v belt 454/502 motors. you'll see the bracket has a tensioner wheel that tightens on the bottom side of the belt.

look in the classifieds at late 80's to late 90's boats with bbc and you should find a pic

Depends on the sea pump style too. If you have a older style, without the idler pulley, than the bracket is slotted, like a alternator or powersteering pump.
