Default 400ss with Merc 1150's and #8's

HA! Had to look at this post eh?

Who will be first to call the Porters and order one?

Outside of needing a serous pile of cash would they even fit?

Where are the pics??? LOL

That would be sweet. 18K lbs boat running what would you say 77-80mph???

If I remember right from looking at the spec page on Merc's site the 1150's ara a little taller than the 700's and heavier. I would think there is pleanty of room in a 400ss for those.

The 400ss FX with Ilmor 700's runs in the mid 70's.

With a pair of 1150's i think you'd be up in the 90's but who knows really?

1350's would be the real ticket but then you can't run pump gas and it would be a pain in the arse to keep it fed.

The biggest problem I see (beyond the mega-dollars) is keeping the wineglasses in their rack at high speeds...

We have got Volvo diesels. I think there would plenty of room for 1100s. The biggest issue would be the transom, it would definately have to be reinforced to support the 6s or 8s. That thing would cruise real nice...
