The 15th Annual 2012 Smith Mountain Lake Tom Maynard Poker Run sponsored by the Smith Mountain Lake Boating Ass. will take place Friday May18th and Saturday May 19th 2012. The Friday events will be held again this year with the welcoming party and dance at Mango's (Bridgewater Plaza) from 5pm to 11pm featuring the "Kings and Fuzzy Logic". A meal with beer and wine (included) will be served from 5pm to 7pm (a shuttle bus will also be provided from Mariners Landing again this year). The Saurday activities kick off at Mariners Landing with the Captains Meeting at 11am with the start of the poker run t ake place at 11:30am. All events on Saturday will take place at Mariners Landing with a beer garden opening at 4pm / cash bar at 5pm / dinner and prizes presented from 5 to 7pm with a dance to follow featuring "Cimarron" till 11:30pm. Special room rates are availble again this year from January 2, 2012 at Mariners Landing (www.marinerslanding.com). Just tell them that you are with the 2012 SMLBA Poker Run to receive rates from Thursday May 17th to Sunday May 20th. We have extended the rates this year for those who want to come early and we are trying to get the Captains together for a "Fun Run" to take place early afternoon on Friday, as requested by some of our participates in past years. Please register and get your room at Mariners Landing early. Last year we filled up the rooms so this year we have a bigger alotment so get them while they are available.
This year the SMlBA is offering a text number (66782) for the Poker Run Captains and participates. You can register this way and you can ask any questions about this years event. The SMLBA also will be offering PayPal soon on our website(www.smlba.com) for payments and updates for the 2012 SMLBA Poker Run.
This is shaping up to be another great opening event for the poker run season and we look forward to all of those that have participated in the past and also welcome those new captains for this years event.
