Did I burn it up???

Just replaced my Bravo sea water pump and in my haste I connected the hoses backwards......stupid,stupid,stupid...arrrrggg. I ran it at idle for about 2-3 min. before I realized what I had done. My question is, do you think I just ruined it?

P.s. it was lubed with a nice film of grease when assembled.

All lubed up it might be ok. Will it pump water?
However That is a long time, it might be best not to chance, that's your call.

Well, everything looks to be ok. Lots of water flow, working good. 👍
Off to the lake in the morning.

Carry a spare or two and learn how to change it on the fly. I learned the same lesson also. I was running my boat on the trailer with one of those toilet plunger looking things pressed up against the thru hull water inlet. Dam thing could not seal at all (even with grease). I wound up toasting a impeller. Decided to replace both of them. I now have 2 spares and all the tools already set aside to do one "just in case" one goes bad.
