Inverted oil filter trick?
when draining my oil what is the trick to drain the inverted oil filter before removing to prevent it leaking all over ?

Just unscrew it enough to allow a small air gap between the oring and filter pad. The filter will drain w/o a drop spilled. Sounds crazy, but it works!

I have a thick screwdriver the that is about 1/2 inch shorter than my filter. I have it sharpened to a point. With the oil warm, I open the drains on the tubes, and punch the whole through the TDC of the filter, all the way through. I come back the next day, and my oil filters and housing valleys are bone dry. I also pop off the oil fill cap and pull the dipstick open a bit too.
