Can I eliminate a couple of these gauges? old race boat....
Some of you have seen my restoration thread, notice my dash has 18 gauges in it. My question is should I or can I eliminate some of the less important ones?? I am trying to clean it & make it less cluttered.
It has:
2x Oil pressure
2x Oil temp
2x Water pressure
2x Water temp
2x Fuel pressure
2x fuel gauges
2x Volts
Then RPM & MPH

Oh they are hooked up just need the tethers to attach them to me. I cranked the chit out of it at the dock one day because I knocked on off with out knowing.
Ok I think Ill probably keep em all. More is always better just don't like the dash, its all white vinyl. Just waiting on to get me gauges back from Livorsi.

Keep all because the one you eliminate would be the one that could have saved you a lot of $$$$$$.

one option would be digital guage that rotates between readouts, reduced footprint. some options put fuel guage on engine with alarm light on dash. voltage could be mounted by batteries. input overload,; too many guages mounted low takes your eyes off infront. to me best would be display on dash under windscreen. just some thoughts.

That's one of those things that it is nice to know, but rather rare and more than likely the other can compensate enough to get you home.

The water pressure gauge is fist line of defence from overheating It tells you if you have sucked up somthing on the intake and will alert you before the temp gage does
Keep em all
