Default hardin marine manifolds question

soooo i pulled the motors out of the old 12 meter this weekend to have the trans rebuilt, when i pulled the elbow/through hull pipe and looked into the manifolds...... 3 out of 4 were nice, light sooty and even looking..... one had white crust inside of it. this tells me there was water in that manifold???? the motors are 598 zul's they have never been hot, plugs and cyl head show no signs of water in it, has anyone ever had these manifolds leak internally ?? any info is great thanks!!!!

Hardin replacements for gils? If so then yes, I had a set leak at the end of last season.
