Default Rebuild

Before putting my 1995 Sea Ray 330 Sundancer away for the winter I decided to remove the motors and look into rebuilding them. No serious issues, they are 7.4’s with 800hrs so I thought its time. I would rather do it now then wait till something happens during the boating season, its already short enough. My question is would it be cheaper to rebuild what I have or purchase rebuilt blocks and sell mine. I have found Atlantic Marine Sales on Ebay that have gen 5 blocks for $2,200 including a 18 month warranty.

Since your engines are out of your Sundancer and most likely have not been run hard, they might still be in great shape. I bet you can just re-ring the engine, do the bearings, gaskets, check the valve train and get another 800hrs out of them.

Not sure about buying any BBC Chevy off Ebay.
