Spoke with Stu a few weeks ago. He confirmed the 31 May date...mentioned date change came from parking avail at docks. I think with this change coming after the long 3 day holiday weekend it might hurt attendance???? I know it leaves me out for making it this yr....will hate to miss it.

How much will the registration be for an out of state boater? Do you need to be a memeber of the FPB to participate?

Sorry about the date change from last year. But for those who have done the run in the past it usually falls on the first week end if June. The problem with using last years dates is logistics. I have to secure the Metro Park Marina for our use only, then we have to get the lot next door to park all the trucks and trailers. By using available dates we are able to let the boaters use the docks and parking at NO charge . The only extra is for electricity which is less than $10.00 per 24 hour use. After getting the dock space secured the next step is working with the police to bag the meters on the water front by the hotel for parking. If you have noticed we have never had anyone towed for illegal parking along the water front of the hotel. I work hand in hand with the police to make these dates good for them and they love having the boaters here and organized.

I always work with Stu on this event because it is first and foremost a CHARITY RUN. The proceeds go to the North Fl. firefighters burn camp. By donating money we are able to send about 60 children to our burn camp for a week. Every child that attends has a firefighter or trained person assigned to them and they are with them 24 - 7 during that week . These volunteers are not paid and take their personal vacation time to help out. As you can tell this charity is very special to me and that is why i am still involved in the run.

That said , anything i can do for anyone just let me know. Always available @ 904-386-6845 . Any suggestions or questions call me and i'll help any way i can.

Bill sr

Great run and an even better cause. And my kids don't have a race that weekend so I am excited.

So should we register through FPC website? Do you have to be a member of FPC to do the run?
Thanks in advance.
