Default 700's and 700's

I'm really curious how a Teague 725 would perform as compared to a Mercury Racing 700. The Teague motor obviously has no blower. Would I be reasonably safe in assuming that the Teague would have to be quite a bit more "high strung" to get the 725 hp as compared to the Merc 700?

What about idle quality and easy starting? The Merc has received high marks since being released. Teague has to be doing something right as well.

Has anyone performed a direct comparison or have personal experience with either or both motors?

I would like to see a direct comparison of these motors in the same exact hulls.

The biggest difference in a blower no blower situation will be torque. Tq gets you on plane and gets you to your top speed faster. The blower motor will have more tq at lower rpms.

LAst year I was talking to Bob about this subject while at the miami boat show as I was repowering with out SC and his quick statement was your not going to be happy with our the whipples. His comment was in terms of over all boat performance.
