Replacements heads for Mark IV Rectangle Ports
What's the recommended replacement for the Mark IV # 14697088 rectangle port heads- Dart's Iron Eagle, World's Merlin III, RHS, or ?? Looking for set of replacements for a 1992 Merc HP465/502 that is run in salt water so need to stick with iron.
Has anyone had experience with any of the above and are their complete sets really ready to bolt on and go?
Thanks in advance,
Rick

I bought 540 blown Merlins....have merc hiperf and dart iron eagle 308's.
Merc hiperf..800 plus ride
Iron eagle 308's, 1100 plus ride.
Both sets are complete minus the gaskets, and both uncut. Rockers on u....
Both straight, never cut on, no repairs, and have all but a handful of hours on fresh LOTO water.
Plus...I'm just down the road from u. Come see for your self.
Cape coral. Iconnel and ferrea on darts, I dunno on mercs.

My IE 308 heads have been trouble free since I got them from Tyler Crockett with inconel exhaust valves, new springs, retainers, keepers, and seals. They have raised exhaust ports and + 100 cfm on the intake. In my opinion the Dart heads are much better than Merlins. My 088 heads had a lot of valve leakage when I bought the boat, so I cant comment on the difference but I like the Iron Eagles and would get them again.

Merc 454-420's
I have 8/9 hours brackish, prior owner had less than 50 after rebuild. The shop in LOTO that did the rebuilds either grabbed a set of merc hiperfs.....and replaced with the darts, of they just made a mistake. Either way, I nor did he (prior owner) know why we could not match the rpms and go straight.....until I took the vc's off. I was actually thinking the hull had a wicked hook....as it always wanted to run to stbd.
As before.....take a look at em.....I'm a short drive away.
