Default Helm Pump advice for #6 drives Please

It's time for a Helm Pump for the cat project and I need some advice on the size Helm pump that I need. What Part number CharLynn Helm pump do I need for SSM # 6 drives on my Ocean EXpress? I don't want to buy one to small.

You first need to find the volume of your cylinders rod side and non rod side. Determine how many turns you desire lock to lock. And then size the appropriate helm pump. I had a friend that liked his 6 turns lock to lock and I like my faster reacting 3 turns. (1.5 turns from center)

You need an Open Center / Non Load Reaction helm.
Some reading for you.

This is the pump I use and it steers really easy when the engine with the pump is off.

Nice! That pump flows some serious oil. I assume with a 6 setup you have 2 cylinders/drive?

Yes 4 cylinders great ol big fat ones. You can also run on steering pump as long as you have a large enough reservoir but two pumps is better.
