Hex or blade oil pump driveshaft???
Is there a real big difference in the two as far as a HV pump goes??? I just finished building my 509 and plan on using 15/40 shell rotella max 5,500 rpm using -12 oil lines and a big cooler..... I will not be running sustained max rpm and will be mostly fast cruising at 3,800 rpm.....
My current HV oil pump has a hex drive and I went to purchase a hex driveshaft and they are back ordered 2 months??? My alternative is to buy another HV oil pump with a blade style drive. Then I have to weld a new pickup on etc...... Anybody know where I can get a hex drive? Is the blade drive up to the task??? TIA... TBF

The hex shaft is not a must. But since you already have the pump I will look tomorrow morning when I get to the shop I might have one for you. Joe Irwin
