Default F550 4x4 with Truck Bed - What's it worth?

I have a line on a 2001 F550 with the 7.3 powerstroke. It has the 2005 front end and bed on it.

The truck has around 180k still runs strong.

The bad, it has a Ohio Rebuilt Title. So it was a salvage. The repairs look to be done very well.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I know in Maryland we can't legally drive a vehicle with a salvage rebuilt title at least from what I understand. So if you had to sell later on it may push away potential buyers? How about save yourself from buying a "tow" truck and sell that Bada$$ apache to me! Haha

Hey come and get it.... It's for sale. LOL

Wow I've never heard of that.. Here in Ohio you can't drive a salvage titled car. When you buy it salvage you get a salvage title. Once you make the repairs, you have to take it and have it inspected. The inspection is a joke, they really only check for stolen parts. Once you pass the inspection they issues a rebuilt title and then you can drive it.

There is a very limited amount of people who will want to mess with a rebuilt titled truck. It appears the value of the truck is around 20% less then the same truck with a normal title.

So, lets say it's $20k truck with a good title, rebuilt would be more like $15k.

I'm just not sure how the market is for an F550. I would think even with the rebuilt title it would have to be worth $15k or more.

Default Salvage Title

Not quite true on MD salvage title. MD is like most states that require a salvage vehicle be inspected before it can be titled. Will always carry a "salvage" title and I agree the value of the vehicle is probably reduced by 20 to 25%. In PA, title will carry a "rebuilt" designation. I have owned numerous reconstructed vehicles over the years and if done by a quality shop, they can be as good or better than new.

Sweet truck that is def worth buying if the price is right. Not sure on the value but yeah the rebuilt title does not scare me personally if I was keeping it but will hurt resale. Funny part is its very possible for a person to total a vehicle, fix it cash/themselves/friend/no insurance claim etc and sell it with a CLEAN title, clean carfax, and no one would know.

In my opinion, I would be willing to pay around the 10-11k mark depending on the truck in person, maybe a touch more for well-optioned out. But the truth of the matter is, no matter how well it was repaired it will always have the salvage stigma making resale for you harder. On the other hand, depending on what you want to do with it, it might be a blessing, pick it up andif you are keeping it forever then who cares. I had an 03 7.3 and even though it was a nice truck, i didnt feel the power was there like i wanted. Good Luck and post more pics if you buy!

truck of that age a salvage/rebuilt title shouldn't be a big deal, any 7.3 will sell, if you need tow, braking capacity of a 550 mid teens would be a deal what else can you buy with that capacity, I had a 01 7.3 550 they drink fuel, big gears but they tow ,and stop great. whats asking price?
