Default replaced engine now Alternator wont charge

ok I got a 1985 wellcraft elcalibur with a 548 bbc I just put the engine back in and the alternator wont charge. There are four wires going to the alternator black which looks to be a ground, orange which looks to be the out put. and a red and a purple which im guessing one is a field wire. does anyone have a wiring diagram for the charging system if so please share. Ive looked and looked and looked I dont see any thing I forgot to plug in.
