Default 525efi high idle after wot blasts

After making a few high speed blasts one of my 525 efi's would idle 200-400 rpm higher than normal. I tried revving the throttle quickly but didn't change anything. Taking the motor out of gear killed the motor. Started immediately every time and idle would then be normal. Seems to run fine otherwise. Linkage doesn't appear to be in any kind of bind or loose. Very hot and humid when this was happening for what it's worth.

Sounds like maybe an IAC issue to me. Maybe it's sticking when hot. Try swapping IAC's from one side to the other and see if the problem moves. If not, then you can rule it out.

Thanks. Is that something I could try cleaning before replacing?

I did see on Hot Rod TV, where the guy cleaned a IAC with carb cleaner. You can verify the IAC function with a scan tool. If the IAC is bad, the level will not change.
