Default 2013 Version best trailer tire, Maxxis, Goodyear, Carlisle

Need to replace trailer tires E load 225 75 14.
I hear from my local trailer world that Carlisle has gotten it together along with goodyear. Maxxis is harder to get and some more expensive which is alright with me if they are that much better.

I just installed 4 new Towmaster tires. The dealer said they are private label Goodyear Marathons and they wear well. I have LRE 225/75 15. Look the same as the GY too.

I just bought Maxxis tires to replace the Carlisles that were on my trailer. The Maxxis are nice tires. Just trailered it 500miles. Towed perfect. Discount Tire had the best price on my size.

I can't remember the last time I bought any 14" tire.

IF I were buying ST tires, I'd buy Goodyear with the longest warranty I could find.

Goodyear. Just got 7 new G614 tires for my trailer. They are 14 ply (LT235/85R16).

I only have experience with Carlisle and Goodyear marathons. EVERY set of Carlisle's i have ever had, has had at least one delaminate. My last set had two delam. They were 4 years old and had never been run even a pound low on air. Never had issues with good years.

I think people make WAY too much over tire brands and don't take trailer set up and use into consideration.

Is the trailer properly balanced?
axles straight for true tracking?
proper inflation?
sun exposure?
moved frequently? sitting, especially loaded, in one place for long periods is a big killer.

I trailer 4-6k per year on my tandem tipping the scales at 6700#. Used both Goodyear and Carlisle and never had a blow out in 8 years.

GOOD year marathons SUCK.... will never buy again.

I had good luck out of a set of Towmasters, but only had them for 1-2 years after new.

On my new boat I am running all new 6 maxxis.
