Default Carb Hat VS carb box on blow thru

Anybody running a carb hat instead of the box ? anybody compaired the two ?

My buddy is now running a hat. He was running the box before. I am pretty sure he gained some power, and the hat is much easier access for tuning carb. His throttle shafts are oringed so fuel doesn't escape and leak. I think he got his hat from steve morris.

who's carb did he use ? not all o-ringed I don't think...

C&S . He switched from prosystems. He's Extremely happy with the C&S now.

thanks..I ran a prosystems one for 2 years, but he only wanted me to run in the pain in a ass box...

The hat is not uscg approved and neither is the oring or pressure fed sealed throttle shafts..if you have a fire on board and the carb is not in a box then the ins will deny the claim..

i have a friend that used a box first then used a hat,,really did not see any power increase..he did see more lower end power when i told him to get a more aggressive throttle linkage rod so the secondaries opened sooner..
