I have a friend with a 2007 Formula who is being told by his local merc dealer that he should be considering replacing the manifolds and risers soon as it is 6 years old. He dry stores the boat and always fresh water flushes it after use.

Just wondering as to peoples opinions on life expectancy on the manifolds on this particular engine model.

Interested in peoples experiences and informed opinions.

My Merc dealer told me 8-10 yrs in fresh water.

Salt or Fresh?
I got 4 seasons in salt always flushed, so if he is in salt he is on borrowed time.

Salt I believe.

Replaced all manifolds this year on advice of my mechanic. 7 years. He said risers still looked good. It's only money!
