Default what to buy ??? merc scan tool or techmate

i hope this is in the right section anyways hi i got a pair of 500efi's and having a few problems and was thinking about buying a scanner to try and pin point the problem.
I have been looking at rinda_diacom what the better of the two ? or whats the difference between mercruiser scan tool or the techmate or any other you would recommend thanks

No difference between tech,ate and merc. I emailed and asked the same question before I bought mine.

I'm not sure how much stuff you can look at in the 500efi. The newer ECMs have much more, maybe check and see what is available and then decide.

I have mefiscan and have only used it twice. But, so far it did what I needed and Bob has great cusomer service.

Would that compare to the Dicom rinda Cd package or to the hand held one thanks

This is a CD and a cable that plugs into a laptop. For $200 it works well and like I said the support has been great. http://www.obd2allinone.com/sc/detai...item=mefiscan1
