Default Burned rubber on Stainless riser...

Can anyone suggest ways of getting burned or melted rubber off a stainless riser?

If the "rubber" is just on stainless and there is NO coating on the stainless you could try Acetone -- You can buy this at Lowes or any home store

You need to be VERY careful- Acetone is very flammable and it evaporates in a flash -- You need to make sure that your pipes are stone cold -- it will take a while but acetone is a excellent solvent and will not leave a residue. Also if you smoke DON'T do it anywhere near the solvent.

Also be VERY careful not to spill ANY on carpet, rubber, electrical stuffs - It will dissolve most "organics"

hope this helps
