My water pressure ports are adapters on the right side block drains 575sci (right when looking from front of engine) however I have fresh water cooling, if you have closed cooling this will not work. Try asking a fountain guy with 525s that has had them out, fountain runs water pressure on all their boats.

It can be handy to tap water pressure from a number of different places, for different reasons.
Tapping BEFORE the raw pumps will give you the positive "ram" pressure that you are getting from the water pickups at speed. This is helpful if you are running pickups very close to the surface (high X on drives, or adjustable transom pickup) so you can determine whether your pickups are still getting clean water or not. Stepped hulls can also introduce weird water pressure reactions that this position will help monitor. Cats also can benefit from taking pressure from this point since turning will affect the water pressure on one side differently than the other.

Taking water pressure after the raw pump will pretty much give you the same indications of whether you are starving the pickup or getting aerated water into it, but you don't have the advantage of seeing the high pressure numbers that indicate your adjustable pickup is too low and is causing excessive drag that kills your ultimate speed. The raw pump itself will act as a restrictor against VERY high pressures from the pickups and the result you get tapped after them will not indicate how much they are restricting.

Taking water pressure in the block will help you monitor whether you need to put restriction orifices on the supply lines - too much pressure in the block is hard on gaskets.

So it really depends on what you are looking for with your pressure gauges. If your system is already tweaked in and you don't need to monitor for anything other than clogs or impeller problems, then after the raw pump and coolers, before the block is a good place for it.
