I use the ts chip tuned by tony wildman. Works great flip on the go and haven't had any glitches with it at all since had it. Even had some different tunes burned into it while we dyno tuned it... Truck is 1999 7.3 auto with a lot of upgrades internal and external motor wise and fully built trans...

Ts, tony or Jody Tipton all good sources for 7.3 tuning. The super chips flashpaq is actually pretty good for mild tow/mileage

I have read that tunes by Jody and tony are very good as well as php. Not sure I'll be happy I spent 3-400 when I pretty much just tow the boat with the truck

There should be a metal tag hanging on one of the rear axle gear cover bolts. It will tell you.
Of that vintage, most of the SRW trucks came with 3.73 and DRW came with 4.10.

How often do you tow with it and distance.. Do you use truck in winter and need to warm it up?

If you strictly tow with it and don't use for other reasons a single tow tune in the range of 40-50 would be ok. The tunes usually hold the trans between gears longer locks up converter longer and a little firmer shift. Great for towing, everyday driving it gets old kinda quick.. If you did a flip chip, could do a 1stock, 2high idle, 3economy, 4light tow, 5heavy tow, 6valet or a security no start.. Another simple out of box unit would be a bullydog gt tuner, can usually find em cheap, and they will monitor as well...
