Default Alpha hit something no forward or reverse

Out with a friend last night just put new prop on and of course he hit something. Idled for a minute. Wouldn't get on plane. No forward or reverse. Small ding in prop but intact.
Any ideas? Thanks

Doesn't sound good. Any noise coming from the drive? Does the prop spin freely? I would pull plug and check magnet for metal.

If it moves at idle speed maybe you just spun a hub.

Sounds like a spun hub to me. Or somehow broke the lower shift cable.

No noise, appears to be solid hub not rubber insert. Pulling it out to inspect later today. Think its broke.

Verticle drive shaft broke right under the upper splines where it's undercut

Go to SEI's website (Stern Drive Engineering). Alpha lowers are about $850 with a 3 year no questions warranty (yes that includes impact damage). Have had one of their Bravo lowers and never had an issue. They ship really fast to. I wouldn't bother with a rebuild when the SEI costs about 1/2 as much.
