Formula 311 vs SR-1 vs Scarab AVS 33

Formula 311 SR-1 vs Scarab AVS 33 (title above is typo)

If you were to compare these boat how would they stack up? Why does the AVS weight 8400 vs the 311's 7400lbs? What does the stepped hull give you? Assuming both had 502 mags with Bravos would they run the same speed? Any other thought are appreciated.

Thanks,

PS seems like the formula cabin is much nicer and the AVS is very sparce.

One thing I would like to see is two identical boats one with steps one without both same weight and using same motor and in the same sea / lake conditions test done by independent party .
Straight Line test and oval course test would be nice.
It's probably been done but I have not seen any results .

The 311 is an SR1. Both the same boat. Never was a step bottom boat
