A good friend had his oil and air filter changed a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday the FRAM air filter came apart and jammed up his turbo, had to be towed to dealer. They said it's not the first one.

So I will add Fram air filters to do not install list. Fram oil filters are already on it.

^That's bad. First I've heard of that one. I NEVER use fram oil filter, never had issues with their air filters... but I can see that happening.

Service manager at a ford dealer here. Have seen several that are not seated and torn at the foam. I wouldnt use anything Fram.!!!

Me too found out in 1991 all about Fram oil filters - Mercruiser V-6 had one installed and notice oil pressure readings fluctuating -

Removed it, then cut open and the cardboard end caps had collapsed. Very poor quality and use cardboard end caps. Installed a Wix, oil pressure readings were fine after that.

I do not buy their stuff anyways but thanks for air filter update.

FWIW, Fram Oil filters wrecked and/or killed several people on motorcycles back in the 90s.
They had a bad run of oil filters that separated with heat and dumped all the oil under the bike, causing the motorcycles to wreck.

I've never, ever touched one since.

We think the filter got wet due to about ten consecutive days of driving in the rain, stock airbox setup, he is trying to pursue it with Fram.

There was a time in the mid to late 90s that when getting your bike tech inspected for roadracing if there was a Fram on the bike it was a 'no-go". Frams had been falling apart while running or just blowing right off the threads. Ran stock filters on all our race bikes, never an issue.
