Default slight miss when i hit the Trim ?

It seems that when i hit the trim i hear a slight miss. I noticed this today while headed back to the marina to get back in time to get it yanked out i was running from 3500 -4000 RPM and it just not seem to sound right and sounded like a miss when i would hit the trim ?

I usually run it at 2800 RPM.

Boat is a 1993 Powerquest 290

T- 454 330HP --798 hours--other engine is at 793.. ?

New batteries last year.

I bought it 2 years ago so this is my third summer.

I have not touched the belts, plugs or wires everything is so clean .. and it starts and runs great...

Battery (ies) or alternator...most of the time. Obviously this includes cables/grounds/etc.

Drive trim and trim tabs take a good amt of power to use, if batteries don't have enough power to handle the sudden inrush of current, your engine will miss.

Dirty, loose connections especially grounds. The trim draws a lot of current which makes it worse.
