OK - I added a KE Oil thermostat which then plumbs to a Dan Olson Oil Cooler (which has a built in oil fiter, wix 50160R). My problem is when the KE thermostat opens and routs the oil through the cooler, the Oil Pressure drops from 58 lbs to 38 lbs. About a twenty lb drop. Running all -12 hoses except one which is a -10. Yes hoses routed correctly. Does anyone else see a pressure drop when the oil is routed through a thermostat and cooler. I'm gussing running it htrough a second oil fiter is the killer.

I just did the same using a canton and #10 lines, no OP drop when opening

Are these used thermostats?

Yes - used thermostat. But I made a loop bypassing the oil cooler to test the thermostat and their was no pressure drop. Think the thermostat is OK. New oil cooler ordered without a second oil filter.

The Dan Olson oil coolers come apart so they can be cleaned don't they? If your oil system worked fine then you added a thermostat and no have a major pressure drop it sounds to me like you have a faulty thermostat...
