Default 500efi alternater

keep burning them up due to the 2 large amps for the stereo... I think. anyone rebuild these to put out more than 70a. do they make a heavy duty replacement?

A 1 wire 100 amp Delco will bolt right in place of those factory junk Mando alternators. Haven't killed one since I switched over. I run 3 batteries and two amps.

If you go up in amps, make sure to increase the size of the charging wire AND ground wire. The stock ones are 10 gauge, and running 100 amps through them won't work for long.

I had a local guy build mine a few years back. All brand new parts and was $100 from him. Had him rebuild one for a friend and it only costs $40 for all new internals. The marine spark arrested housing is the expensive part.
