Shifter plate question
Hello all....
I am just about to do a swap from a 2000 7.4 MPI to a 2005 496 Mag HO... the guy who sold me the motor kept his shift plate. The one that I had on the 7.4 was for port side mount and the one on the 496 is a starboard mount. Can I just flip things around? Or just mount my old plate upside down? Also, seems that on my old set up the neutral safety switch is up at the shift lever on the helm and on the 496 set up it is back at the motor.
Has anyone had to do this swap before? Any insight on this would be great... for now just trying to work out all the connections before I drop in the new motor this week.
