Default 42 Tiger adventure begins!

Good morning OSO members: Just pulled the trigger on a 2000 Tiger. Awesome beast with Zul 1,000 Plus and 6 Drives. I need to install mufflers on the dry exhaust the boat is equipped with. I have zero experience with dry exhaust, but I absolutely don't want to be "that guy" with the obnoxious boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Being "that guy" is all part of the experience. Leave those mufflers off. It helps alert skanks to your location and brings out their primal desires. Good luck with the new boat.

Came out of Virginia Beach, still up in classifieds, apparently was the catalog cover boat for 2000. I'm 63 years old, have had a desire to get back into performance boating for quite some time. Kids are grown, fuel is cheap, semi-retired, time to play!

Congratulations on the new toy and welcome to OSO.
I'd run with the exhaust for a little while first, you may even get to like it or you may go deaf and then it wouldn't be an issue anymore......

RR

P.S. Any pics?

Congrats on the purchase. I've never seen it in Virginia; didn't know it was ever down that way.

But it's a bad mama-jama for sure.
Sean Stinson (aka The Illustrious One) took myself, Steve Schuble, and "BatGirl" for a ride way back on it in the fall of 2001 or so for a wild ride out of North Miami; right out the back door of the Cigarette factory on 188th street. We hit some HUGE water and Sean never backed off. I remember launching so hard, so quickly, that the boat came up and and sat me in the backseat! I'll never forget that day on that boat.

Thanks to all for positive comments. The boat was just in VA for about 4 months, Great young man I bought it from took me out last Thursday, start up roar of 653 " supercharged motors gonna be a problem ! We hit 90 with 300 gallons of fuel and more left in her, just ran out of room. Claims of 100 + seem possible. Pics on OSO classified still. Anybody got silencer input?

Awesome boat. ! Looking at the Pics I thought those looked like water cooled CMI ?

Are you just wanting idle speed to be quieted for marinas and docking? If so you could drop the pipes below water line (looks goofy) but she will be still mean once up and running... As it should be!!

Congrats on the purchase! GGB makes a clamp on muffler and also inserts that go inside your existing tails. They work well and don't rob any power. I doubt they will make it legal but will definitely help the rumble at idle.
