Aeromotive Fuel pumps stay clear
Had a brand new a 1000 from Aeromotive , had it installed on my brand new motor that was all done by Haxbyee marine in Vancouver bc , everything was installed correctly, the pump completely died and seized up at wide open throttle .... in the process it destroyed a few pistons and now the block needs to be bored. Talked to Aeromotive over the phone they will pretty much cover just the pump and thats it ... this pump literally has less then 1 hour on it . Stay well away from there fuel pumps unless you want to have problems, and there customer service over the phone was not helpful in anyway, just kept talking in circles. IMO there pumps our total garbage . Just my 2 cents but dont want to see anyone else go through the issues i am going through now because of this pump .
Thanks

motor was new and fuel pump but just want to ask did something cause the fuel pump to fail.
I see many boat owners do not change fuel lines to new, especially the fuel line from the gas tank to first inlet, fuel fill hose delaminated internally,, plugged fuel vents, clean the fuel tank completely from all contaminants , all new fuel filters thru out, check fuel pick ups for cracks, fuel sampling - especially for water, doing fuel pressure testing and fuel vacuum testing. Along with too many L fuel fittings causing bad fuel flow.
Just wondering not blaming but more times than not it might be something that caused the fuel pump to fail.

I bought an Aeromarine A1000 for my street car a out 10 years ago. All new fuel system with correct Aeromotive fuel filters, -10 line etc. Pump failed in less than 1000 miles. When I called them up they blamed the failure on everything but the pump and didn't want to repair it under warranty. I would NEVER use an Aeromotive pump again!! Car currently has a Weldon on it, it much higher quality pump IMO.

Ive seen good and bad about the Aeromotive pumps. but not the most reliable. My vote is for the Weldons. When you have a pump that is certified for aircraft use, you have a pumps the CAN NOT fail.

Let us know how the Fuel Lab works out. I looked into them but had mixed reviews also. I liked the variable speed controlled by PWM.

rACE CAR AT THE SHOP WERE WE PORTED HEADS had or still has a Aeromotive 1000 pump car is only run a few times a year as we were to busy. Think 3 trips to the track burned it up. We tried several controllers but they tened to over heat the pumps we also had a return line set up. Ened up desiging out on pump controler which wouldnt over heat the pump. Price on the second design was just over 100.00. Made a few of them but couldnt get anyone to make a production run as we didnt have the cash to have a min order.

To bad no one wanted your controller. I also ran the Aeromotive controller, still burned the pump up in less than 1000 miles.
