Going from 5.0 to 5.7 or 6,2 SBC
I have a VP vortex 5.0 and about about 6/7 years ago i replaced factory carb with 4 barrel holly vac secondary carb, a 4160 . Volvo uses a spreadbore intake with adapter to use a 2 barrel stock. Long story short the motor is toasted and I am re powering, I am trying to decide if I want to buy long lock with or without carb. Do the experts think I will have to jet carb or will the bigger motor pull more air and the AF ratio will remain same. I called holly tech line and the guy " I dunno".

I did the swap several years back on a guys boat 5.0 to 5.7 pretty much a drop in deal. We lowered the compression so we could run the factory small chamber 5.o heads reused the factory roller cam as well. We did upgraded the timing chain, intake and carb. He was on a tight budget but wanted the torque of the 5.7
If budget would have allowed a camped up alum. Headed 383 would have been nice...

45cid more will usually require some more jet if all other things are equal.
The Vortec 305 was around 250hp with a 4bbl if I remember right.
Are you going with a 270 or 300 hp (or more ?) Vortec 350 ?

[a vortex 350.
Currently I am getting my ass kicked by the trim cylinders being corroded to the drive and I can't get the drive off. Hammer with drift, air hammer and even drilled and tapped end of it and used a piece of pipe to make puller and it's stronger than 5/16 all thread, even with heat.
