Default Mercury Verado 300's

What do ya'll think about a set of 2009 300 Mercury Verado's with 1200 hours on them? They are on a 2009 Renegade CC. One owner. Supposedly, certified Mercury tech maintained every hundred hours and has the new HD gear cases as of 2014. Should that many hours scare me from purchasing this boat if all else checks out? What should I look for?

I have had my 08's for two years with more hours, they have never missed a beat.

I'm not sure. I am asking the seller for that info today. FYI, he told me that the motors were "tuned" to 340hp now. He did that 3 years ago.

I was going to write something nice about Verados and say 1200 hours is not a problem if they've been serviced by the book but..........
You just lost me when I read the motors have been turned up.

You're now looking at engines with a lot of hours and modified/re-tuned for more power which in turn means more stress on every part and probably driven harder too. I may be in the minority here but I love standard engines, just the way Mercury designed them. Once you start trying to make the engine better than Mercury were capable of building it you're risking reliability.

My 2 cents. (Sorry)
