Default Trs drive/merctran 2

What is the purpose of the spring and washer on merctrans 2 transmission to the outdrive drive shaft. Can it be eliminated? If not where can I find them ?

Thank you. Do you know where I can find these parts? My seal was torn up by the spring and I am missing the washer. If I know what it looks like what material it is I can make one.

Also remember kc has the Larger trans coolers. Good investment if your throwing any power at it. You can see them on here website.

I'd consider the Gatling cooler. I was planning on ordering two prior to moving on to another project that has c72's rather than merctrans. I talked with them at KC at length. (Good people btw) and that among frequent oil changes is one of the most important things to do for long jevity. Just be careful not to lug for long periods as well as reentry and you should be fine. I was going to run with a pair of 600's and wasn't to cencerned after talking with them. Was going to plan on a couple of spares just in case though. If your looking for a couple I have two very low hour ones that are spotless with original paint and perform perfectly. I just don't need anymore.

Not a bad idea to run temp gauges either. I was going to use temp senders where drain plugs are.

I do want to put temp gauge on it just to keep an eye on it. I don't run it to hard. The direct line off of the water pump seems to be doing the job so far.
