Default Oil Filter Orientation ?

I need to relocate my remote oil filter bracket. I've noticed on some of the big blocks that they have the filter inverted (open side down). Should I be concerned about the oriention of the filter. I would think that a filter that is inverted would drain itself resulting in less than ideal staring conditions.

If you do the upside down thing, just make sure you use a filter that has an anti-drainback valve in it. I believe that ac pf 1218 is one.
