Default Changing to new style exhaust shutter's... WTF?

The old style which were all steel with 2 small rubber grommets were no longer available. OK.... went with new style pn#807166a1. Looks like a better set up but how the hell do they go in??? It looks as if the rubber ends need to attach to the shutter and slides in. Tryed a little grease, not happening! HELP?

Thay are a wiener to get in the older bullhorns. I frequently use a large sanding drum and my drill on the inside of the pipe to open it up slightly.

So I guess it's a real tight fit... Nothing is ever easy. I have a porting tool I can use for that. Thanks.

And sometimes you might have to take a little off the end so it goes down far enough to engage the 2 holes in the pipe. Make sure the flappers move freely too. Good Luck

Same thing here. Tight as can be. If you install them as is, I believe the frame gets distorted enough that it binds the flappers from working. I sanded the inside of the plastic framework where the flappers touch until she fit without binding.

What exactly engages into the holes? Looks like the 2 sqaure rubbers just fit over the pre existing holes.
