Default 1999 HP500EFI?

What is under my fuel filter that is causing/allowing a very slow oil leak onto the bilge? I can only find drips coming off the fuel filter bracket.

Thanks!

I have the Balancer Seal/key issue. Only slings oil when running above 3000rpm. Leaves a line of oil from below the raw water pump, on the bildge floor, down to far most "V" portion of the bildge. Easy to clean up, just a mess. But I dont have EFI engines. I have Carbed ones.......

As an additional FYI, since we're mentioning the raw water pump....if you ever have to replace the pump housing, Merc has a new "1" piece design. This will not work on our boats due to the location & how the raw water hoses run. I just went thru this.

Basically what I have is a 2 piece unit, 2 cast plates, with a plastic housing sandwiched between them. (EFI engines may be different due to the cool fuel system, just check into this if you ever need to replace the housing)

Merc Part #'s 46-72774A89 $109.00 with impeller, gaskets, housing.
#94916 Addtl wear plate. $13.85

If you ever go to get a new housing kit, they will probably give you the new kit, which may not work. Just replace it with whatever came of it. The parts guys usually push the new stuff....
