Default Drain Problem

Fountain has 2 cockpit drains. They supposed to drain into the engine compartment. Due to quality control probs a Fountain, the drain lines are short so the water just drains forward. Not into the engine compartment. Fountain doesn't acknowledge the problem so you have to fix it yourself. Same thing happened to me and other Fountain owners I know.

My 27' had these too. I removed the chrome covers and was shocked to see that when they drilled the holes, they skimmed the side of the stringers pretty heavy and did not reseal the stringers. All water from cockpit runs right onto the unprotected stringers. I sealed them myself. But then, my boats never get wet inside, so not a real conscern. Mine just drained into the bottom of hull, no tubes, and then thru hole in the bulkheads to the engine compartment. No idea how my new (to me) '32 Fever is done.
